Ya’thi Nènè Lands and Resources’ (YNLR) mission is to protect the land and water of Nuhenéné (Traditional Territory of the Athabasca Denesųłiné) for the long-term benefit of its community members. YNLR is founded on 7 unified communities (3 First Nations including Hatchet Lake, Black Lake and Fond du Lac Denesųłiné First Nations and 4 Municipalities including Camsell Portage, Uranium City, Stony Rapids and Wollaston Post) and through partnership with various industry and government organizations, all with a focus on enhanced participation and benefits for the local communities and its members. YNLR supports sustainable economic development through negotiated agreements with resource extraction companies while also advancing beneficial land protection initiatives such as Indigenous Protected Areas that support cultural and environmental protection. YNLR believes that by working in partnership with industry and government through our established governance structures and decision-making processes, we can achieve balance and create enhanced value for all parties.
