Michelle Nicolas is a graduate of the University of Manitoba, where she got her B.Sc. and M.Sc. in geology. She has worked for Government of Manitoba for 25 years, starting out in the Petroleum Branch then moving to the Manitoba Geological Survey in 2007. She is the Chief Geologist of Sedimentary Geoscience in the MGS. Her area of expertise is in sedimentary geology, pore-space commodities and stratigraphy of Manitoba’s two Phanerozoic sedimentary basins.
