Tania graduated in Geology from University of Porto, Portugal. She obtained her PhD in Geology in 2009 from the University of Porto studying Li-Sn-Nb-Ta mineralization in granitic pegmatites. In 2010 and 2011 Tania worked with Prof. Anton Chakhmouradian at the University of Manitoba on the mineralogy of alkaline rocks and carbonatites. Tania joined the Manitoba Geological Survey in November 2011 where she has been conducting several targeted critical minerals studies as well as detailed and regional scale mapping addressing tectonic interpretations and reconstructions. Since May 2023, Tania Martins has been acting in the position of Chief Geologist for the Precambrian section of the Manitoba Geological Survey.
